*New Trend* An Interior Designer for your toddler
Back in April our toddler Rupert turned two - and with a new baby on the way, we decided it was the perfect time to move him out of his nursery and into a ‘big boys room.’ But where do you start when it comes to creating the perfect Toddler Bedroom?
With a bit of research I discovered there is a new trend amongst parents when it comes to making their children bedrooms look gorgeous: An interior Designer. But not just any interior designer - one who specifically works designing rooms for toddlers and babies. Meet the fabulous Kids Rule Interiors
So how does it work?
I had an initial Skye call with Dominique from Kids Rule who asked me lots of question about the things Rupert loves, his new bedroom (the size, space etc) and also the things that were important to me as a parent. For example, I wanted somewhere that Rupert and I could snuggle up in for bedtime stories!
After sending the room measurements to Dominique, she set to work coming up with a fabulous concept for his room. Between us we decided we wanted it to have a scandi look with a theme of adventure and bears (two of Rupert’s favourite things!)
Within a few weeks Dominique sent me her ‘concept boards.” These included fabulous visual ideas for the sorts of things to go in Rupert’s room, plus a guide on how it should be laid out. She also sent me a shopping list (with direct links and prices) for some of the decoration she has suggested!
So, what did Rupert’s ‘Big Boy’ bedroom end up looking like? Check out the photos below!
And the verdict? Rupert was completely in LOVE with his new room. From the second we showed it to him on his second birthday he has spent many happy days and nights in there! (And mummy and daddy are pretty impressed with it too!)
