The top 5 stories every parent should be reading to their toddler at bedtime

As your baby grows, bedtime stories become more and more important. But what happens if, like me, you stare at he bookshelf and think “urgh...I can’t bear to read that one again!”

So here are my personal “top 5 stories every parent should be reading to their child at bedtime.” Not only does Rupert love them, but  I really do to!

  1. Guess how much I love you

It’s the cutest story of a mummy and baby rabbit competing to show each other who love the other the most. Simply heart melting.

2. Hugless Douglass

This  story follows a bear (who is a big fan of cuddles!) as he heads on his first day to nursery.  Who couldn’t love a bear who loves to hug? This is also a great book to prepare you child if they are heading off to nursery soon

3. Zog and the flying doctors

From the writers of the Gruffalo, this story includes a friendly flying dragon and a princess who doesn’t want to JUST be a princess -  wants to be a doctor too! It’s a great story and I love be fact the little girl has aspirations to be a doctor! Mega cute!

4. Hide-and-seek pig

This gorgeous “lift the flap” book is a great way to entertain little ones. It’s a wonderful story about a pig and hen playing hide and seek and what they discover along the way.

5. The magic bunny

If you want to tuck your toddler up in bed and read him a story to make him feel safe then the magic bunny ticks every box. It’s all about a little bunny who guards you whilst you are sleeping! Just adorable!
